Today was also the first time Abbie and I have ventured out in the car together - alone! We went to the doctor, then to the Chick-Fil-A drive thru so Mommy could get some lunch, then to the grocery store. She did great, and I felt pretty good about it too! It was such a feeling of independence to be out and about with our little one!
She is eating well and sleeping pretty good too, sometimes going 4 hours at night! She gets a little fussy in the afternoons/evenings, and we just have to figure out creative ways to entertain her - like the video shown in the previous post! We are using the Mylicon about 3-4 times a day, and I think it helps her. She doesn't get fussy at night at all, so even if she is awake for a little while I still don't feel like I am going to go crazy. Anyways, here are the 2-week pictures. Enjoy!!

Shannon (and Wes), she is soo pretty! I know you probably just stare at her all day long! I miss those days! She is adorable! Isn't going out on your own so great, once you do it for the first time, you will be a pro!- Ali
Ohh she is just so very sweet!!
What a sweet little face!
Yea for venturing out! I remember taking Owen to the doctor for the first time. I had on the Baby Einstein Lullaby CD, I was driving 40 in a 55 and I was waving all the cars to go around me. I was so nervous!
She is gorgeous Shannon! I can so relate on the going out of the house thing. After James left us in Texas I had to drive her by myself 45 minutes to check into a new hotel BY MYSELF. It was insane, surreal, and ego boosting all at the same time. As my mom says, put on your big girl panties and just do it! You are doing it friend and doing it well! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to meet her:)
she is awesome! Good job on getting out of the house. the more you do it the easier it gets and it just keeps getting better. i tell my friends that soon you can't imagine your world without a baby on the hip. BellaRose was a fussy baby, not that Abbie is, but the minute we would take BellaRose outside she would be so happy.
She's so cute! I love reading about your milestones. It is an amazing ride.
It's like clock work - every evening at 6 she gets fussy! But she is SO good the rest of the day, I really can't be too upset! And I have read where this is a typical fussy time for infants; something about them being overstimulated from the day or something.
She is getting cuter every day...the kids and I will be by soon to see her again!
Those first outtings just the two of you are precious memories. Isn't it wonderful to have these blogs to chronicle our first adventures as new moms.
