Getting closer...

Today we had our 38 week (and a few days!) appointment. For all you facts and figure lovers, I have effaced about 70% but no dilation to speak of yet. And she is at -1 position. And something else was negative today - my weight gain!! Woohoo! I told you there was no rhyme or reason to this stuff! Maybe the fact that I have switched to low fat frozen yogurt this week helped! Of course I am still dousing it in magic shell and chocolate syrup....

In other news, does anyone watch the Hills? I know there are a few of you out there! I just watched it from last night, and I was so happy to see Stephen back! I would love to see him and LC get together again.

So my next appointment is next Thursday. Maybe if nothing has happened by then we will make a plan for induction or something. I don't necessarily want that, but we'll see what happens. I'll keep you posted!

Doctor's Appointment

Today we had our 37 1/2 week appointment. Nothing much to report. He said he would check me today if I wanted, but I figured there's probably no point since you can be dilated and effaced the same for weeks. So next Tuesday when we go he will check me and we'll go from there. He said they would not stop me if I went into labor at this point, which makes things kind of exciting! The weight gain was MUCH better this time. I have figured out though it really doesn't matter what I eat or how much I exercise. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason when you are pregnant, at least for me! I am feeling good for the most part - getting into and out of the car is hard, sleeping is hard, and standing and sitting is hard, but other than that I am great!! : )
I still have a good bit of energy and my appetite is good and all that. I am so thankful I have not had heartburn to deal with either. I have a feeling she is going to be a bald baby, like I was!! I hope and pray she is just as sweet and well-behaved once she is here as she has been to me in my belly!

In other news, Wes and I have both been nesting this week! I think I finally rubbed off on him! The county puts these dumpsters in our neighborhood a couple times a year for spring and winter cleaning, so Tuesday night we cleaned our hearts out. We both feel so much better about getting rid of so much junk. And we got the stroller, swing, and high chair assembled. Of course they just get put away for now, but at least we are prepared. Until next time...

The weekend

How come Saturday and Sunday go by SO fast, and Monday and Tuesday drag???!!! I know I am not the only one who has ever posed that question, but especially lately I have just been dreading going back to work after the weekend. It's not that bad, but I think Elisa put it perfectly when she said it's like having senioritis, but instead of your senior year you are getting ready to go out on maternity leave!!

Anyways, we had a great weekend. Friday and Saturday the weather was warm, but windy. And now today we are on to cold and windy. Oh well. Yesterday the "family" went fishing....

Brandy had a blast, as always. She is so nosy when Wes catches fish and just cries and whines to get over to him. Usually she is right by his side, but in the picture above he was too deep for her to stand, so she had to swim to him when he caught fish! I got a great "workout" just walking around and wading, meaning I got so out of breath just doing nothing that it felt like I had just run 5 miles! Then I got to lay in the back of the truck and get some sun while Wes continued to try to catch some fish. It wasn't a great fishing day, but the sunshine was really wonderful.

Later we met up with Josh and Becky for appetizers and dessert - yum!

Where did my ankles go???

Let's see what I want to tell you about....
First, I have been having the ongoing shipping shower, so last night I sat down and opened the gifts I have received! It was fun because I had saved most of them to open at once, and I didn't even know who some of them were from. Having them shipped from all over the country was very special to me!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all of you that sent gifts! And of course, to Misty, Rachel and Amanda for organizing it all.

In other news, I had my 36 week appointment today. They did the strep B test, and I asked my doctor to examine me for dilation and effacement, because I had been having some pressure and mild pain, and just wanted to know what was happening! So no dilation yet, but he said my cervix was thinning out. That's really all I know. As far as weight gain, and I am only telling you this because I bragged about my last appointment where I had only gained three pounds...well, let's just say it was NOT what I was hoping for! He said it was most likely just water weight, because I am starting to swell a little. My wrists are puffy, the wedding ring is likely off for the remainder of the pregnancy, which I hate, and the bones in my ankles are gone! Boohoo. I am starting to slow down a lot more. Trying to walk as much as possible, but it seems to be more of a waddle! Oh well. I am winding down, I think. I go back to the doc next Thursday, and weekly from here on. I'll keep you all posted!! Here is the 36 week belly pic. Oh, and the bottom picture is me trying to strike a pose at 8 1/2 months preggo - I know, it doesn't really fit, but I am tired of just lifting my shirt up and showing the belly! I want to be cute!

A Special Delivery!

No, not the baby just yet! But I did get these beautiful daisies from Misty, Rachel and Amanda today! In the midst of getting great gifts for my shipping shower, these were a wonderful treat that I could enjoy right now! Thanks SO much girls! I love you dearly!!

Baby Shower!!

Saturday Dawn and Vicki hosted a baby shower for me! It was wonderful! We got so many great, much needed gifts, and LOTS of clothes!! I have a ton of pictures, but here are just a few....

If you want to see them all, let me know and I will email them!
I feel so very blessed to have all of these ladies in my life. Their families have become our family away from home and I wouldn't trade the friendships I have made out here for anything. Thanks to everyone who helped with it and came! It really means a lot!

I am also having a shipping shower that Misty, Rachel and Amanda are throwing and it is currently underways, so we will be taking pictures of that too very soon!

34 week appointment

We had our 34 week appointment yesterday and it was pretty uneventful, which is a good thing I suppose! I thought I would have the strep test, but that is next time. We did talk about pediatricians, and Dr. Barney gave us a list of his recommendations. So we will be choosing one in the next couple weeks. Oh, and the GOOD news is that I had only gained 2 lbs in 3 weeks, which is HUGE because I have been eating ice cream and cookies galore, like I said in my previous post! I don't know how that happened, but I'll take it. I go back in 2 weeks, then start the weekly visits. Not too much longer! I have my shower out here on Saturday, so check back for pictures. Until next time....
