Happy Birthday Wes!!!

Yummy ice cream cake from Marble Slab - I got accused of buying this more for me ( :

Celebrating at McCool's

I will add to this post tomorrow when I get some more pictures - but for now, I want you all to know that Wes turned 30 today - finally! The 5 months between the time I turn 30 and he turns 30, or any age for that matter, are hard for me because he is constantly rubbing it in that I am older!! But my comeback is that means I can be the boss of him for those 5 months too!!

Seriously though, I love this man with all my heart and soul, and cannot wait to see him with our little girl! I know he will be the best father she could ever want!

Just wanted to share some maternity pictures Wes and I had done today! We had a coupon for a free 8x10 so we took advantage. I thought they turned out pretty good.

My crazy pregnancy dream!

I can't help but want to share the crazy dream I had last night with you all! Listen to me, ya'll has now turned into you all! Ick!! Anyways, you have probably heard that some women, later in their pregnancies, sometimes "see" a foot or a hand outlined in their stomachs. It hasn't happened to me (yet) and I know it doesn't always happen, but I was talking to a friend about that yesterday, and how weird it would be. So sure enough I dreamed about it. But I not only dreamed that all of a sudden a pure outline of a foot popped up in my stomach, but then it actually came OUT of my stomach, like through my skin! Wes was right next to me in my dream, so we were experiencing this together. Then as if that wasn't enough, her foot had 6 toes! OK, so I think this probably came from the fact that my little brother was actually born with 6 toes on one foot - a little weird I know, but as soon as he came out the doctors assured us it didn't mean anything was wrong with him, and thankfully there wasn't. It was removed at about 6 months old. So anyways, here was her foot, sticking out of my stomach, then she actually came out of my stomach, but not all the way. Enough for me to see her face, and feel how warm she was. All I could think was no wonder babies scream when they come out, because she was so warm and outside was so cold in comparison. So we put her back in there, because we know she isn't quite ready to come out yet, and that was pretty much it! Is that not the weirdest pregnancy dream ever??!!! I just had to share.

And I should be posting some pictures this week too, so stay tuned!

Starting the Nursery!

We bought our crib this week! I found it online, used, went to see it and bought it on the spot. It was a great deal, and looks like new. It is a sleigh bed style, white, and one that converts into a toddler bed and full size bed. So it was everything I was looking for. We put it together this afternoon. We don't have the mattress yet (I just registered for that on Friday) but it's exciting because now I feel like we can get the rest of the furniture to match. I found a changing table at BabysRUs, then we will get the glider, and a little table to go by the chair. We still aren't sure whether we will paint the room or not - I kind of want to see what it will look like with all the decor without painting. Oh, and I know you aren't supposed to put cribs by windows with blinds, but both walls that fit a crib have windows. So we will just have to make sure the blind cords are out of reach when she starts sleeping in there. Plus there will be curtains to cover up the blinds - or maybe we will just take the blinds down! I will continue to take pictures as the room progresses!

As for me, I am doing good and feeling good. Our little girl is kicking and rolling a lot more now, and it's so fun to feel her move. I am definitely getting large and slowing down a little bit. Sleeping is becoming more of a challenge. I keep adding pillows to the bed. I bought a Boppy wedge pillow friday that "wedges" nicely under my belly. And I can't be away from a bathroom for more than 30 minutes!

In other news, we are celebrating Wes's 30th bday on Thursday so I will have some pictures to post from that! Happy Birthday babe!

Charlie Cooper

Hello friends. I want to ask you to pray for Charlie Cooper. He is a 9 month old little boy that was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis about 3 weeks ago. He has had a rough time, and is still hospitalized here in Salt Lake at Primary Children's. His parents have a blog that I have linked under my friends list. Please check it out and keep him in your prayers. I know there is a HUGE network of people out there and prayer is powerful! Thank you!

Babymoon and Doctors Appointment!

I feel like I could write a novel right now with all the details of our trip and my doctor's appointment, but I will try to condense everything! We had a great time on our "babymoon"! I had a training class in LA last Wednesday and Thursday, so Wes flew into LA Thursday night and we drove down to San Diego for the weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and it turned out to be more of a beach vacation than just sight seeing! We went to Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Coronado Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, to name a few! We drove along the Pacific Coast Highway and just dropped in on these little beach towns all over the place. We shopped and ate and walked and shopped and ate and walked some more! We were both totally exhausted by dinner each night, but it was well worth it. San Diego is an awesome city. We stayed downtown, but were within walking distance from the harbor, and about a 10 minute drive from the beaches. So lots and lots of fun was had. I am so glad we did it, and it was perfect timing, because waiting much longer may have been harder on me to get around! Anyone considering doing this before having a baby, don't just talk about it - DO IT!! It seemed it meant so much more because we know our lives will never be the same, and it's not like we dread that happening, but it can be a scary time and getting away together is just a great way to relax and reflect on everything with each other!

This morning I had my 27 (28 week by my book!) doctors appointment. It was the sugar test, which I had heard was awful, but it ended up not being bad at all. I drank the red stuff, it tasted exactly like Hawaiian punch, then they drew blood. I find out tomorrow if anything was abnormal. They said no news is good news, so I am hoping for no news! Other than that, he just measured me and listened to the heartbeat again, and all that was fine. I go in 4 weeks again, then I start every 2! It's hard to believe! It has all gone by so fast. I am honestly still feeling great, but bending over, getting my shoes on, etc, is getting a little more difficult. And I seem to get winded much easier. I actually received some nursery stuff from Pottery Barn - the bumper, bedskirt, and the curtain valances, last week, so now I am hunting for some furniture and the process will begin. Hope you all have a great week, happy valentines day, etc!!
